Hello Everyone! I pray all of you are having a fabulous day! We are getting closer to Christmas Day, and as it approaches I can't help but be excited about baby Brynlee's first Christmas! It's such a blessing to be able to watch her grow and to be able to be there for these important holiday's with my precious grandchild!

Last blog I talked about many of the benefits of the adaptogenic herbs Astragalus and Ashwaganda. Today I’d like to share with you the benefits of another fabulous adaptogenic herb called, Rhodiola rosea. Before I go on, I would like to let you all know that the information on the adaptogens I am writing about comes from books I am reading written by medical doctors. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of white papers (medical documentation) written about them. There has been extensive medical studies done in Russia and the Soviet Union that are now being translated into English, thus allowing the Western World to discover these amazing herbal wonders! I find this so exciting! Don’t you? Let’s get started:

Rhodiola Rosea is a plant that grows in the high rocky and frigid altitudes of the altai Mountains of Siberia. The plant grows from 12-30 inches and has striking yellow flowers and beautiful green foliage. It is referred to as Golden Root, Siberian Root, Roseroot or Arctic Root. The root of this beautiful plant is where the health benefits can be found. When the root is cut it releases an aroma that is liken to a rose – thus the reason it was name Rhodiola ROSEA. There are over 200 species of the Rhodiola plant, but only the Rosea species has been shown to contain significant health benefits. These benefits include:

  • Maximize energy

  • Protect against heart disease and cancer

  • Ease anxiety and depression

  • Sharpen memory and concentration

  • Fight the effects of aging and stress

  • Enhance physical performance

  • Block fat for lasting weight loss

Now I’m sure many of you can see why I am so excited to learn about this fabulous adaptogenic herb!
